Section titled “Does this replace WordPress core, or is it a theme?”Neither. Aurora Admin is a plugin that replaces individual wp-admin screens in place — the URLs don’t change, and disabling the plugin returns you to the native WordPress screens exactly as they were.
Is this really free, with no paid tiers?
Section titled “Is this really free, with no paid tiers?”Yes. Every feature is available with no license key and no restrictions.
Will this work with my other plugins?
Section titled “Will this work with my other plugins?”Aurora Admin only replaces the built-in WordPress admin screens it explicitly targets (Posts, Pages, Media, Users, Comments, Nav Menus, Widgets, Themes, Tools, Export, Import, the core Settings screens, Profile, and the block editor frame). Screens added by other plugins are untouched. Running an already-active importer on the Import screen still opens that importer’s own native screen, since its content is entirely owned by whichever plugin registered it.
Each replacement screen can also be toggled off individually — see Content Tables — if you’d rather keep the native WordPress screen for something specific.
Does Aurora load anything from external servers?
Section titled “Does Aurora load anything from external servers?”Not by default. It only makes an external request if you opt in:
- Choosing a Google Font loads it from
fonts.googleapis.com. - Submitting the Report a Bug form sends your description and basic diagnostics (plugin version, WordPress version, PHP version, active theme, and your site’s domain) to Aurora’s support endpoint.
- The Modules page’s “Install & Activate” buttons download the selected companion plugin’s ZIP from Aurora’s own servers, using WordPress’s standard plugin-installer API — the same mechanism the native Plugins → Add New screen uses.
Nothing in that list happens automatically or in the background; each only fires when you take the corresponding action.
What happens if I disable or delete the plugin?
Section titled “What happens if I disable or delete the plugin?”Aurora Admin doesn’t touch how WordPress core works underneath — it reframes existing screens rather than replacing their data or capabilities. Deactivating it returns every screen to the native WordPress interface immediately, at the same URLs.
